In force. Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on 20 August 2026 that the reciprocal visa exemption agreed with Colombia starts on 1 September 2026, and that date has passed: Colombian ordinary-passport holders visiting Israel for tourism, up to 90 days, no longer need a B-2 visa from a consulate. Israel's ETA-IL rule applies to every visa-exempt nationality, so an electronic travel authorisation (25 ILS, apply only on the gov.il portal) must be approved before boarding — which is why we now serve eTA rather than visa-free. One caveat: we could not read the Population and Immigration Authority's ETA-IL eligibility list directly. If the portal refuses a Colombian passport, that is the operative rule — contact an Israeli mission before flying.
