The Seychelles move up from visa on arrival into the new 15-day exemption. Published. Four Interior Ministry notices appeared in Thailand's Royal Gazette on 31 August 2026 (vol. 143, special issue 207) and take effect on 15 September 2026. Mauritius and the Seychelles are the only two nationalities placed in the new 15-day tourist exemption; the 60-day scheme that covered 93 countries is repealed outright. Until 14 September inclusive the old rule holds at the border, and a stay already granted is not cut short. The exemption now covers tourism only, and at land crossings it may be used no more than twice per calendar year. The customary 30-day extension at an immigration office is not written into these notices, so we do not promise it.
