Published. Four Interior Ministry notices appeared in Thailand's Royal Gazette on 31 August 2026 (vol. 143, special issue 207) and take effect on 15 September 2026. They repeal the July 2024 notice that granted 60 days to 93 countries and place your nationality in a new 30-day tourist exemption covering 60 countries and territories. Until 14 September inclusive the border still grants 60 days, and a stay already granted is not cut short. Two things change besides the number: the exemption now covers tourism only, where the old one also covered work and short business visits, and at land crossings it may be used no more than twice per calendar year (nationals of Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Singapore excepted). The customary further 30-day extension at an immigration office is not written into these notices, so we do not promise it.
